Monday at Slop-on #2

Well, the original intent of Slop-on was to attempt some life casting, and on Monday, we indeed tried it again.  This time, we experimented with a "Split Bucket" technique that only required the victime, er, subject to be glopped up for about half an hour.  Identities have been blurred to protect the guilty....hehehe.

First you must make sure that your victim is well sedated.... a sharp blow to the head will work!

Then you fit the front half of the bucket into place. and secure it with duct tape.

Here is the inside of the mold with the plaster smoothed into place.

Then you drop the victim's head into the back half of the bucket that is filled with alganate.  Notice the straws for breathing are already in place here.

Then you fill the front half with alganate as well....

And here is the resulting life-cast.  A little bit of finishing is required, as you can see, the bald-cap "floated" a bit and produced an uneven joint.  This can be sanded smooth and will not affect the finished product.  Later the ears will be smoothed out a bit also.
