For a good cause

Saffron!
I had an idea for a skunk that had a yellow strip instead of a white one.  There are a few critters around already that had the names of spices, and so I called this one "Saffron" which is a bright yellow spice.  I decided that she needed bright yellow clothes as well.  She is a partial suit, head, arms, legs and tail, along with a yellow blouse and yellow wrap skirt.  I made her to be as much a "fit anybody" design as possible.  I am 240 lbs and it fits me, so should be a cinch on anybody smaller.  I have enough black and yellow fur left over to make this a complete fursuit if so desired. So why am I saying all this?  I decided to find out how much money my work could bring in, so Saffron is being donated to the charity at Anthrocon 2009.  They will wait to see her to decide if they will auction her or hold a raffle, but in any case, it should be interesting!  Some of her features are as follows:

HEAD:  The head has a movable jaw with teeth, "Follow me" eyes, and a computer fan in her nose  It is built around a bicycle helmet just like the other heads I have made recently.  Bright yellow Mendelson's fur is used for the stripe with yellow "tokyolon" hair for bangs and eyelashes.  It is held on by the helmet strap and has zippers down the sides of the neck for closing it, although there is enough slack to reach up and unbuckle it while still zipped.

ARMS:  The arms are black fur that end in mitts.  There is a seperate thumb made of regular cloth to make it easy to grasp, and these can be pulled inside out and be nearly invisibel.  There are also zippers on the underside of both hands that can be opened to let your hands out for increased dexterity.  The arms clip into a strap that encircles the neck to hold them on.

LEGS:  The legs are made of black fur and the feet consist of men's size 13 foam sandals.  The are big enough for almost any foot and in fact, a small shoe can fit inside them.  They have clips on the tops to attach to the belt for the tail.

TAIL:  The tail has a small piece of wood mounted on a belt around the waist with foam padding on the underside.  The tail is built around giant "twisties" which allow some bending to pose it, but it is too heavy to stay up on its own.  It can be rigged with a string if so desired and will stay in place.  The tail is black fur with yellow fur striping.

BLOUSE:  The blouse is made of bright yellow "waffle weave" material and is very stretchy.  It should fit virtually anybody!

SKIRT:  The skirt is bright yellow cotton and a wrap design that will fit any waist from 30 to almost 60 inches.  It is split in the back with a small buckle on top.  You undo the buckle, slide it under the tail, and then redo the buckle on top, then wrap the skirt and tie it in back over the buckle.

And now for some pictures

This is a shot of the tail before the fur was put on.

This shot shows the fur pieces of the suit.

This is the whole outfit.  Ignore that bulge on the left of her neck, I didn't get all the fur tucked in!

The zipper is open and my hand is out.
