New feet for my fursuit! |

![]() First I did a tracing of my foot in a sneaker that I planned to wear. Then I added in the outline of what I wanted the toes to look like. I was not happy with the first outline that I did, so I covered it with tape and redid it. |
![]() Next I cut out the pattern. |
![]() Here you see what I used a a pattern to design the toes, four styrofoam eggs, two large, two small. |
||
![]() I went out and get some cheap muslin to use for designing my pattern. I cut out small pieces and then cut and pinned it around the eggs until I was satisfied with the way that it looked. Then I marked the muslin to show where to make the cuts. |
![]() Here is the muslin opened up to show the marks where the cuts go. The front edge cuts are already made and the ones in back are not cut yet. |
![]() Here are pieces of the white fur that I am using for the feet. They are cut to approximately the size of the muslin pieces. |
||
![]() The pattern has been transferred to the white fur and it has been cut and sewn. Here are four toes for one foot with four more shown upside down so that you can see the insides. |
![]() Here is how the toes will sit in relationship to the sneaker. I have intentionally made the feet larger than this shoe so that other people can wear them. |
![]() Here I have sewn a large piece of fur to the toes and wrapped it around the back of the sneaker. |
||
![]() In this shot you can see thin foam sheets that I stuffed inside the feet to give them some form. What you don't see yet here, is the piece of white leather that I sewed to the bottoms. |
![]() Here I have put on the anklets from the original feet and put on one of the new feet. You can now plainly see the foam liner inside the other one. |
![]() Finished feet! The anklets will stay up better when they are over the fur of the suit, they slide a bit on bare skin. |
||
![]() As a final touch, I added plastic claws from Tandy. I put a short piece of metal rod (welding filler rod) through the hole in the claw, then punched a hole in the end and sewed over the rod to hold them in place. |
![]() And here is a bottom view to show the leather soles. The holes had to be punched in by hand and then hand sewn. Fortunately, this does not have to look too good since most people will not see this part unless you are sitting with your feet up! |
